A Legacy of Innovation and Growth
Point Eight Power traces its roots back to 1950 when MOER Service, Inc. (Marine Offshore Electric Repair) began repairing switchboards, motors, and DC equipment in downtown New Orleans. In 1966, the company evolved into Anixter Power Systems, Inc., expanding its marine and offshore drilling services. In 1978, following a strategic acquisition, the company was rebranded as Point Eight Power, Inc.—a name symbolizing the eight points of a compass and the energy required to move in a specific direction.
Since then, Point Eight Power has expanded far beyond its origins, growing its capabilities and expertise to serve a diverse global market. In 2025, the company launched a comprehensive brand refresh, introducing a modernized logo and new color scheme to reflect our evolution, innovation and commitment to the future of power solutions.
