From Equatorial Guinea to Valdez, Alaska, Point Eight Power has custom-designed electrical control and distribution system solutions and delivered quality generator controls, switchgear and buildings to over 1,500 clients worldwide for more than 50 years.
Point Eight traces its roots back to 1950 when MOER Service, Inc. (Marine Offshore Electric Repair) began repairing switchboards, motors and DC equipment in downtown New Orleans. In 1966, MOER Service evolved into Anixter Power Systems, Inc, and continued to service the marine and offshore drilling and production industries. In 1978, Anixter was purchased and began doing business as Point Eight Power, Inc. This unique name refers to the eight (8) points of a compass and the energy needed to move in a specific direction. Since 1978, Point Eight Power’s footprint, capabilities, and expertise have grown significantly to reach all points of the world.
Dating back to its inception and continuing today, Point Eight Power has supported the marine and oil and gas industries by providing high quality products and expert service to all major energy companies, including Chevron, Texaco, ExxonMobil, and Shell. With an eye towards the future, Point Eight Power has expanded into almost every aspect of the energy industry – Point Eight Power’s client list includes shipbuilders, critical-power companies, the United States military, transportation, process and manufacturing enterprises, and local government entities.
