Arc-Resistant Switchgear for
Maximum Protection

Point Eight Power’s Medium Voltage Metal Clad Arc Resistant Switchgear is third-party tested by KEMA to meet IEEE C37.20.7 for internal arcing faults up to 63kA for 500msec. Our patented side plenum design directs arc gas upward, away from adjacent sections for added safety.

Designed for IEEE C37.20.7 Type 2B accessibility, it provides arc resistance on all sides—even with designated LV compartments open. Per NFPA 70E, it maintains a hazard risk category of zero when breaker doors are closed and latched.

Built to Withstand Seismic Activity

With rising seismic activity, switchgears must endure earthquakes while remaining operational. Point Eight Power’s medium-voltage switchgear is third-party shake table tested to meet ICC-ES AC 156 and IBC standards, using ASCE 7 as the seismic performance benchmark.
It withstands a Test Response Spectrum of SDS = 2.50g, ground level, 5% damping, and a ZPA of 1.000g.
